

Suspected members of the Islamic State West Africa Province, ISWAP, have killed the chairman of the hunters’ group in Garjang village, Damboa Local Government Area of Borno State.
The incident was disclosed by counter-insurgency expert and security analyst Zagazola Makama in a post on his X handle on Monday.
According to the report, the incident occurred around 5 a.m. on Sunday when the victim, identified as Habu Dala, 53, was abducted from his home by the attackers.
The terrorists reportedly took the deceased through Mulharam to Forfot villages in Damboa, where villagers later found his body with gunshot wounds.
Troops of Operation Hadin Kai, alongside members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) and the hunters’ group, visited the scene.
The deceased was taken to the General Hospital in Damboa, where he was confirmed dead and subsequently released to his family for burial according to Islamic rites.
